Whip Mix Orthodontic Plaster is an ISO Type 2 gypsum product developed specifically for orthodontic applications, offering greater hardness and whiteness compared to ordinary plaster. It provides a working time of 7–9 minutes and a setting time of 20 minutes, with a water-to-powder ratio of 37 mL per 100 g. The material achieves a wet compressive strength of 3,500 psi at one hour and a dry compressive strength of 6,500 psi at 48 hours, with a setting expansion of 0.20%. Vacuum mixing is recommended for optimal density and accuracy, and finished models may be treated with Model Glow model soap to achieve a glossy surface. This product is supplied in a 33 lb (15 kg) bulk quantity.
