Dental acrylic resin is the material most removable prosthetics are built from: a polymethyl methacrylate powder mixed with a liquid monomer, packed or poured against a model and cured to a denture base. This department carries the dental acrylic resins, denture teeth, reline and repair materials, flasking supplies and pre-formed partial clasps that take a removable case from impression to delivery, across more than 1,400 listings.
Choosing a denture acrylic starts with how you process it. Heat-cure acrylic is packed into a flask and cured in a water bath, and it is still the benchmark for a finished denture base. Self-cure, sometimes called cold-cure or quick-cure, polymerizes chemically and is the faster route for repairs, orthodontic appliances and chairside work. Pourable resins are mixed thin and flowed into a hydrocolloid mould. New Stetic Opti-Cryl and Keystone Industries stock both cure types, while TCS covers the flexible thermoplastic side.
The tooth side of the department is anchored by New Stetic NewCryl acrylic denture teeth in upper and lower, anterior and posterior moulds across the Vita-style shade range, with RMH3 Dental Supply adding further tooth listings. Reline and repair materials, tissue conditioners, Keystone pre-formed clasps and Lang Dental and Parkell lab chemistry round it out.
How to choose
- Decide the cure first: heat-cure for a processed denture base, self-cure for repairs, relines and appliances, pour resin if you work with a hydro-flask.
- Match the shade family across the case. Denture base resins are sold in original, clear, and veined or fibered pink options, so pick the base shade before you pick the teeth.
- Check powder and monomer sizes separately. Powders run from small jars to 5 lb tubs and liquids from 8 oz to 32 oz, and a busy lab burns monomer faster than powder.
- For denture teeth, work from the mould chart and the shade, not the product name: upper anterior, lower anterior and posterior moulds are ordered as separate cards.
- For a repair or a reline, choose by tissue tolerance: hard reline and repair acrylic for a stable ridge, soft reline or a tissue conditioner where the mucosa needs to recover.
- Buy the accessories with the resin. Separators, flask hardware and mixing jars are what stall a case, not the acrylic itself.
Frequently asked questions
What is dental acrylic resin made of?
It is polymethyl methacrylate. A polymer powder is mixed with a methyl methacrylate liquid monomer; the monomer swells and dissolves the powder beads, the mix passes through a sandy and then a dough stage, and heat or a chemical initiator completes the polymerization into a rigid denture base.
What is the difference between heat-cure and self-cure denture acrylic?
Heat-cure is packed into a flask and processed in a water bath, giving the highest conversion, strength and dimensional stability. Self-cure polymerizes at room temperature in minutes without a bath, which suits repairs, relines, orthodontic appliances and pour work, at the cost of a little strength and more residual monomer.
Can I mix brands of dental acrylic powder and liquid?
No. Powder and monomer are formulated as a system, with the initiator and activator split between them, so the ratio and working time only hold within one product line. Order the matching powder and liquid from the same line and follow the stated powder-to-liquid ratio by weight or volume.
How do I choose a shade for a denture base?
Base resins are supplied as original or standard pink, clear, light pink and veined or fibered pinks. Pick by the patient's tissue tone and how much base will show. Clear is used for orthodontic work, try-ins and cases where a palatal base should disappear.
How quickly do acrylics and denture materials ship?
Orders ship from our Northern Virginia warehouse, and in-stock orders placed by 3 PM ET ship the same day. Liquid monomer is a regulated flammable liquid, so large liquid sizes may travel on a ground service even when the rest of the order does not.
