Whip Mix Hard Rock Aqua is an ISO Type 5 die stone supplied in a 33 lb (15 kg) quantity, formulated for compatibility with all impression material types, including polyvinyl and polyether materials, for which its higher setting expansion of 0.28% is particularly well suited. The material offers a creamy, thixotropic consistency that flows readily under vibration while remaining stackable, and a working time of 6–8 minutes supports multiple pours from a single mix. Setting time is 15 minutes, with a wet compressive strength of 7,000 psi at one hour and a dry compressive strength of 15,000 psi (104 MPa) at 48 hours. The resulting surface is smooth and non-brittle, allowing dies to be trimmed without chipping. Water-to-powder ratio is 21 mL per 100 g.
